Monday marked the most disastrous day for the Israel Defense Forces since the start of the conflict with the terrorist organization Hamas: twenty-one Israeli soldiers were slain in the southern Gaza Strip.
Reportedly, the soldiers were in the process of demolishing two ten-story structures when a Palestinian fighter emerged from a subterranean shaft and opened fire on a tank that was providing protection to the soldiers.
The militant’s rocket fire reportedly immediately caused the deaths of two soldiers and injured two others with RPGs. A second RPG detonation that was reported may have caused an explosion in the structures, resulting in their collapse along with the soldiers within.
Since the October 7 Hamas massacre of 1,200 Israelis, 556 Israeli soldiers have been slain.
A monumental banner depicting a heap of deceased Israeli soldiers with a menorah in a falling position was unveiled in Tehran, the capital of Iran, as a reaction to the Israeli soldiers’ fatalities.
