CNN’s chief data analyst, Harry Enten, reportedly shared alarming insights about the state of Democratic leadership during a recent segment on “CNN News Central.”

He indicated that the party is experiencing a significant decline in approval ratings, particularly regarding their handling of the economy since Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

Enten noted that confidence in Democratic leaders has plummeted, with only 39% of voters believing they will act effectively on economic issues, down from 80% a year ago.

He described this shift as indicative of a “revolt” within the Democratic Party, highlighting that many party members are dissatisfied with their leaders.

“Holy Toledo,” Enten exclaimed, pointing out that this is the lowest approval rating recorded in Gallup polling history, significantly below the previous low of 60%.

The dissatisfaction extends to prominent leaders like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who is reportedly struggling to maintain the support of even half of Democrats in New York.

His recent decision to break from House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries over a bipartisan spending bill has drawn criticism from within the party.

Additionally, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is facing internal turmoil following Vice Chair David Hogg’s announcement of a plan to direct $20 million towards primary challenges against “out of touch” Democrats.

This move has sparked a backlash, with Jeffries asserting his commitment to supporting incumbent Democrats. Veteran strategist James Carville has suggested that the DNC might even consider legal action against Hogg for undermining party unity.

In light of this chaos, Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin announced he would not seek re-election, further signaling the discontent within Democratic ranks.
