Dave Portnoy, the creator of Barstool Sports, casually announced his cancer diagnosis during Wednesday’s livestream of The Dozen Trivia.
During the show, around the 37-minute mark, Portnoy’s squad was presented and asked how he felt about the game, at which point he revealed the truth.
Portnoy was also wearing a bandage over one side of his neck. The statement was met with an awkward hush before the game restarted. The New York Post reported that Portnoy was diagnosed with skin cancer.
Later, on Twitter/X, Portnoy clarified that he was cancer-free.
“I did have cancer. I beat it. It wasn’t the serious kind thank god. I can’t tell if Bosco thinks cancer is funny or not.” Portnoy wrote on X.
