President Biden announced on Thursday that he would not grant his son, Hunter Biden, a pardon and would accept the results of his son’s federal firearms trial, which is currently underway in Delaware.
During an interview in Normandy, ABC News anchor David Muir inquired whether Biden would embrace the outcome of Hunter Biden’s trial. Biden replied, “Yes.”
Biden also responded with “yes” when Muir inquired whether he would rule out a pardon for Hunter.
The White House has previously stated that Biden would not pardon his son if he were convicted of a crime.
Hunter Biden’s trial commenced this week in Wilmington, Del., where he is being accused of felony charges for falsifying federal forms regarding his drug use in order to unlawfully acquire a firearm in 2018.
Hunter Biden may be sentenced to a maximum of 25 years in prison and $750,000 in fines if he is found guilty of all three charges.
It is anticipated that the trial will last for approximately two weeks.
The initial days of the trial were attended by the First Lady, Jill Biden.
Hunter Biden’s trial is scheduled to commence mere days after former President Trump was convicted in New York on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in connection with a hush money payment during the 2016 campaign.
