On Sunday, Vice President Kamala Harris delivered a meandering aside regarding democracy, providing her critics with additional material to ridicule the 2024 Democratic presidential candidate.
Harris, her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and their spouses addressed the audience during a halt on a multi-city bus tour in the battleground state of Pennsylvania.
“Our election is about understanding the importance of this beautiful country of ours in terms of what we stand for around the globe as a democracy,” Harris stated.
“As a democracy, we know there’s a duality to the nature of democracy. On the one hand, incredible strength when it is intact.” she continued.
“What it does for its people to protect and defend their rights, their liberty, and their freedom. Incredibly strong and incredibly fragile.” she added.
The presidential candidate’s critics, in addition to some unflattering commentary, posted videos of Harris discussing democracy on X.
