Robert F. Kennedy Jr. disclosed on Monday that former President Trump requested his participation in his transition team in the event that the Republican presidential nominee secures an additional term in office.
“I’ve been asked to go on to the transition team, you know, to help pick the people who will be running the government, and I’m looking forward to that,” Kennedy said in a new interview with former Fox host Tucker Carlson.
Kennedy terminated his independent presidential campaign on Friday and pledged his backing to Trump.
He stated that his name would remain on the ballot in the majority of firmly red and blue states, but he withdrew from the battleground states where he could make a significant impact.
He attended Trump’s rally in Arizona over the weekend, where the Republican nominee extended a warm welcome to him.
Kennedy, who had initially challenged President Biden for the Democratic nomination, was running as an independent by the conclusion of his campaign.
Kennedy informed Carlson that he intends to dedicate his remaining time to the election of Donald Trump, which is now less than 70 days away.
