A terrorist plot against Taylor Swift’s forthcoming concerts has reportedly now resulted in the cancellation of three performances in Vienna, following the arrest of two individuals. The plot was reportedly linked directly to ISIS.
A 19-year-old who had pledged his allegiance to ISIS and was residing with his parents in the town of Ternitz, as well as another male, were apprehended earlier today, according to international reports.
Both individuals were apprehended today after the police conducted an investigation on the 19-year-old’s residence and discovered a variety of chemicals and substances. Allegedly, the plot resulted in the evacuation of Ternitz residents and the closure of roads.
Swift was slated to perform at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday nights as part of her Eras Tour. The stadium was the intended target of the attack.
Franz Ruf, the Director of the Vienna State Police, and Gerhard Purstl, the Chief of the Vienna Police, disclosed during a news conference that they had both been radicalized online and had devised specific strategies for the attack.
The suspected terrorist assault was reported mere days after Morgan Wallen’s concert in Kansas City was postponed due to a terroristic threat on Friday.
The man who was apprehended in connection with the threat posted on social media that he was targeting two men who were backstage with Wallen.
It was suggested that the men being targeted were Swift’s fiancĂ© Travis Kelce and fellow NFL player Patrick Mahomes.
