A congressman from South Carolina who campaigns as an advocate for “traditional family values” had multiple indiscretions during his 34-year marriage, his wife alleged in divorce documents.
Melody Duncan accused GOP Rep. Jeff Duncan in Friday’s filing of forsaking his family to live with his mistress, who is reportedly a lobbyist in the Washington, D.C. area
During his re-election campaign, the 57-year-old conservative allegedly flaunted his affair in front of Melody while pretending to maintain a flourishing marriage in front of his constituents.
Melody asserts that Duncan acknowledged his extramarital affair with Williams to her, although she believes there was at least one other woman.
According to the lobbying disclosure page of the US House, Liz Williams and Co. is a registered lobbying firm with seven clients, including Delta Air Lines.
The politician, who has represented the state’s third congressional district since 2011, positions himself as a defender of the nuclear family.
So far Duncan has refused to comment on the shocking allegations.
The divorce was disclosed for the first time by the South Carolina Index-Journal.
