On Friday, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court reversed a previous ruling from a lower court in the all important battleground state, determining that mail-in ballots with incorrect dates will now not be counted in November.
The state’s Supreme Court argued that the lower judgment lacked jurisdiction, as the decision from last month only named Philadelphia and Allegheny Counties.
The Republicans have secured a victory as a result of the court’s decision. However, the state’s American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has responded with criticism, referring to misdated ballots as a “common trivial error on the external envelopes.”
