On Friday, former President Donald Trump reportedly met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at Trump Tower in New York City.

This meeting occurred just one day after President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris met with the European leader and announced an additional $8 billion in military assistance for Ukraine.

The meeting also occurs just days after Zelensky criticized Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), Trump’s running mate, as “too radical” and expressed skepticism regarding Trump’s strategy for concluding the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Trump had previously ended to do everything in his power to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible once he takes office.

“We have a very good relationship, and I also have a very good relationship, as you know, with President Putin. And I think if we win I think we’re going to get it resolved very quickly,” Trump said.

“But it takes two to tango, you know, and we’re going to have a good meeting today. And I think the fact that we’re even together today is a very good sign.” he continued.

The ongoing conflict between Russian and Ukrainian soldiers over Ukraine’s southern and eastern territories is now in its 31st month.

Trump has pledged to put an end to the carnage in Ukraine if he is elected president.
