The selection of Keith Kellogg, a retired lieutenant general who served as chief of staff on Trump’s national security council during his first term, as special envoy to Ukraine and Russia was announced by President-elect Trump on Wednesday.
Kellogg was previously employed by Trump as director of the National Security Council.
Trump lauded Kellogg for standing by his side “right from the beginning,” and it was mentioned that Kellogg has had a distinguished career in both the military and business.
Trump has pledged to bring an immediate stop to Russia’s war in Ukraine by utilizing his contacts with the leader of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.
“I am very pleased to nominate General Keith Kellogg to serve as Assistant to the President and Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia. Keith has led a distinguished Military and Business career, including serving in highly sensitive National Security roles in my first Administration. He was with me right from the beginning! Together, we will secure PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH, and Make America, and the World, SAFE AGAIN!” Trump wrote on his truth social platform.
