Authorities in the Czech Republic reported that a mass shooting at a university in central Prague resulted in the deaths of at least 15 individuals and the injuries of dozens more.
Police stated on Thursday afternoon local time via social media that officers were dispatched to the Faculty of Arts at Charles University in the old town of the Czech capital in response to a reportedly gunshot incident.
The police department subsequently announced in posts that the assailant had been killed and that structures in the vicinity of Jan Palach Square had been evacuated.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the police.
The police stated on social media that they had no intelligence linking the unidentified shooter to a terrorist organization.
Czech media reported that police stated there were no indications the gunman had accomplices.
