Former Israeli Prime Minister and Knesset member Naftali Bennett is now claiming that in order to curtail the terrorism that afflicts the Middle East, both the United States and Israel must target Iran.
A move which very well could start a large regional war involving the United States.
On Friday, Bennett, who held the position of prime minister of Israel from 2021 to 2022, authored an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal advocating for the targeting of Iran by both Israel and the United States due to the actions of its terrorist proxies.
He stated that increasing the repercussions for the Iranian regime regarding the activities of organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah is the sole method of containing terrorism in the region.
The Iranian government provided backing to the terrorist operation carried out by Hamas and the Islamic Jihad in Gaza on October 7, which targeted Israel.
Alone, the assailants murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis and captured hundreds more.
Hundreds of rockets supported by Iran have been fired at Israel from Hezbollah, located to the north of the Jewish state, compelling the evacuation of tens of thousands of Israeli citizens from their residences.
Houthis, an insurgency supported by Iran, have interrupted the passage of container ship cargo through the Suez Canal and shipping lanes into Israel by launching drones and rockets at cargo vessels in the Red Sea from deeper south in Yemen.
In Syria and Iraq, militias supported by Iran have conducted a multitude of attacks against American bases.
