Last month, an unprecedented quantity of Chinese nationals entered the United States through the southern frontier, surpassing the previous record that had been established only one month earlier.

In November 2023, 4,797 Chinese nationals were reported to have been encountered along the southwestern frontier of the United States and Mexico, as reported by the Customs and frontier Patrol (CBP).

It is the third consecutive month that the monthly encounter tally with Chinese at the border has surpassed a previous record, which was established in September with 4,042 encounters and October with 4,261 encounters.

Additionally, immigration officials across the entire nation had 7,245 encounters with Chinese nationals in November, an increase from the 7,164 that occurred in October.

Comparing fiscal years 2021 and 2022, when there were only 450 and 2,176 southwest frontier encounters with Chinese nationals, respectively, the monthly figures indicate a startling increase.

The quantity increased to 24,314 in the first two months of fiscal year 2024, having already surpassed 9,000 in the previous two months.

Citing information from a Border Patrol Sector Chief, House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) warned earlier this year that some of the Chinese nationals entering the United States had ties to the Chinese Communist Party and the People’s Liberation Army.

The newly disclosed figures were presented in conjunction with data indicating that November witnessed an unprecedented 250,000 encounters with unauthorized immigrants, which set a new monthly record.

Illegitimate border crossings have experienced a notable upsurge during the Biden administration. Since assuming office in 2021, an approximate total of 1.7 million escaped illegal immigrants have been documented.

A total of 415,000 reported gotaways occurred during the Trump administration in 2018, 2019, and 2020. A record number of unauthorized border crossings occurred during the 2022 fiscal year.
