Prosecutors are now reportedly alleging that the brothers Tal and Oren Alexander, famous and successful real estate agents, collaborated to exploit their status to operate a sex-trafficking operation that involved the drugging, violent assault, and rape of numerous women.
According to a grand jury indictment that was unsealed on Wednesday, the two men, along with a third brother named Alon, orchestrated their sexual assaults by luring women to isolated locations where they were gang raped, sometimes by more than one of the brothers.
The men used the allure of luxury hotels and vacation properties to entice the women.
The brothers were apprehended in Florida on Wednesday and are anticipated to appear in court.
The attorneys representing the three men did not promptly respond to inquiries regarding the indictment.
Several women made public accusations against the brothers, prompting the Federal Bureau of Investigation to investigate them.
The indictment alleges that the men, who held prominent positions in real estate from approximately 2010 to 2021, utilized their positions to meet women who they subsequently sexually assaulted.
The indictment alleges that the men would occasionally covertly spike the women’s beverages and administer cocaine, mushrooms, and GHB, a depressant drug that is commonly used in clubs and is also referred to as a “date-rape drug” due to its ability to induce a state of unconsciousness.
Before establishing their own company in 2022, Tal and Oren were prominent brokers at Douglas Elliman.
The luxury real estate industry was taken aback by allegations against Tal, Oren, and Alon, which were initially revealed when women filed civil lawsuits earlier this year.
The arrests are the result of litigation filed by two women in March, who accused Oren and his twin brother, Alon, 37, of rape.
Similar allegations were made against Tal Alexander, 38, in a subsequent lawsuit and in accounts provided to the Journal by women.
The men have denied the allegations, and their attorneys have stated that the civil suits were without validity.
