Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) said on Saturday night that his nephew suffered injuries during the earlier in the day assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania political rally.

“My family was sitting in the front, near where the President was speaking. They heard shots ringing out — my nephew then realized he had blood on his neck and something had grazed and cut his neck.” Jackson said in a statement.

The Texas Republican, who was also a medical staff member at the White House, claimed that the pen where his nephew was, was directly “in the line of fire” and to the former president’s right. Jackson clarified that following the event, his nephew had been urged to visit the triage tent by his sister-in-law. He reportedly is set to make a full recovery.

Following the gunshot earlier on Saturday, Trump was promptly taken from his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. According to the U.S. Secret Service, two attendees suffered serious injuries, and one participant passed away as a result of the event.

The agency declared the gunman to have been neutralized. The former president is doing well, according to the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee, and he is excited to attend the RNC in Milwaukee the next week.
