According to a new Wall Street Journal poll, the presidential election between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump is essentially tied.

The poll indicates that nonwhite voters are more inclined to support Harris, and Democrats are demonstrating a significant increase in enthusiasm for the campaign.

In a two-person matchup, the former president leads the current vice president by 49% to 47%; however, this is within the margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

Earlier this month, Trump maintained a six-point advantage over President Biden before the latter withdrew from the contest and supported Harris.

Harris receives 45% of the vote, while Trump receives 44%, on a ballot test that included Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and other independent and third-party candidates.

Kennedy is supported by a mere 4% of the electorate, while 5% are still undecided.

In the most recent poll, Biden was six points behind in the multicandidate contest.

Harris has made significant progress in the process of reestablishing the coalition that secured Biden’s presidency in 2020.

This coalition had been weakened by concerns regarding his mental and physical acuity.

In the days following Biden’s disastrous debate performance on June 27, a Journal survey conducted in the days following the event revealed that Black, Latino, and youthful voters all expressed greater support for her than they did for him.

The states in which Harris could potentially compete against Trump could be influenced by a change in the demographic composition of Democratic support.
