Over the weekend, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a former independent presidential candidate, has now disclosed that he is currently under investigation for “collecting a whale specimen 20 years ago.”
“Right after I endorsed President Trump, I received a letter from the ‘National Marine Fisheries Institute’ saying that they were investigating me for collecting a whale specimen 20 years ago,” Kennedy said during a recent rally.
“This is all about the weaponization of our government against political opponents of the party in power,” Kennedy later concluded.
Kennedy appeared to be alluding to the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), a division of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) that is accountable for marine fisheries.
Kennedy’s daughter, Kick, disclosed to Town & Country Magazine in 2012 that her father had severed the skull of a whale that had washed up on the shore in Hyannis Port, Mass., when she was a child.
The interview has recently regained momentum following the termination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s campaign and his endorsement of Trump.
Kennedy announced in late August that he would be postponing his campaign and supporting Trump.
