The US Coast Guard released the extraordinary footage in the wake of the hurricane, which has claimed the lives of 16 individuals thus far.
The human toll and consequences of Milton, which struck the Sunshine State late on Wednesday, are still being counted in Florida.

The fisherman, who has not been identified, was spared from certain death when he was rescued from the Gulf of Mexico.
Before he was discovered by the helicopter, he was left clinging to a cooler some 30 miles out to sea off Longboat Key.
However, as the tempest intensified, it was too late for him to flee.
He was advised by emergency personnel to don a life jacket, maintain an emergency radio, and endure the storm.
Milton subsequently collided with Florida, causing dozens of tornadoes to tear across the state at 120 mph.
However, the Coast Guard was able to locate the man as the sun rose. It is estimated that he had survived winds of up to 90mph and seas of 25ft.
