Unease has been expressed in the United States and Israel as a result of an alleged release of Pentagon documents that detail Israeli preparations for an attack on Iran in response to Tehran’s October 1 missile attack, according to a report Saturday.

The two files were published by the “Middle East Spectator,” a pro-Iran Telegram account.

The account claimed that the files were sent by a source in the Pentagon and provided a detailed account of US observations of the Israeli Air Force’s actions on October 15-16 in preparation for an attack.

The Pentagon and the US Office of the Director of National Intelligence have not issued any official statements regarding the purported breach, and news outlets have not verified the documents.

Just prior to that, a senior Israeli official informed the Axios news site that the defense establishment was treating the disclosure with the utmost gravity.

An official from the United States stated that the alleged leak, although it is of the utmost concern, would not affect the preparations for an attack against Iran.

The documents, purportedly containing a visual intelligence report from the Department of Defense National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), allegedly depicted the observation of IAF exercises that utilized air-launched ballistic missiles (ALBMs), air-to-surface ballistic missiles, fighter jets, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and refueling tankers that had been previously employed during Israeli strikes on Houthi sites in Yemen.

As per the documents, the IAF has managed at least 16 Golden Horizon ALBMs and 40 IS02 (Rocks) ALBMs since October 8.

After its most recent direct attack on Israel, in which it launched 200 ballistic missiles that sent the majority of Israel into bomb shelters on October 1, the Islamic Republic has been preparing for an Israeli reprisal.

The attack resulted in the death of a Palestinian man in the West Bank and minor damage to residential areas and military bases.

According to Iran, the missile attack was a response to the assassination of the top leadership of the Hezbollah terror group in Lebanon and the death of Hamas politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh in a July blast in Tehran.
