Steve Bannon, a prominent figure in the MAGA movement and a former top advisor to the President, reportedly called on President Donald Trump to renounce U.S. support for Ukraine in the wake of a significant drone attack on Russian military airbases.

During an appearance on his show, The War Room, Bannon criticized Ukraine’s actions as “irresponsible” and expressed concern that the Trump administration had not been informed in advance of the operation.

The drone strikes, which reportedly targeted four airbases in Murmansk and Irkutsk, resulted in substantial damage to a number of Russian warplanes, including strategic bombers like the Tu-95 and Tu-22.

Bannon noted that the operation was planned for over 18 months and coincided with the timing of scheduled peace talks in Istanbul, raising questions about Ukraine’s strategic priorities.

Sources within the Trump administration indicated that Kyiv did not provide prior notification of the drone strikes to the White House, a revelation that Bannon seized upon as evidence of mismanagement within U.S. foreign policy.

He directed his ire at Senator Lindsey Graham, accusing him of undermining Trump’s position by pushing for increased conflict with Russia without the president’s knowledge or consent.

“If no one informed Trump, then the White House has to condemn this immediately and pull all support,” Bannon stated, calling for Graham to be held accountable.

He further argued that if the administration was unaware of Ukraine’s plans, it signified a failure in leadership and intelligence regarding U.S. involvement in the conflict.

Bannon’s commentary raises alarms about what he describes as a “kinetic third world war,” suggesting that the U.S. is being drawn into a larger conflict against its will.

He urged Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and others to investigate the deep state operatives who may have been aware of the drone operation, demanding accountability for what he termed a “ticking time bomb.”

In a pointed message to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Bannon emphasized that the focus should be on diplomatic solutions rather than military aggression.

“You’re supposed to be in Turkey today talking peace, not 3,000 miles into Russia blowing up their strategic bombers,” he remarked, highlighting the contradiction between Ukraine’s military actions and the peace talks.

As tensions escalate, Bannon’s call for Trump to withdraw support for Ukraine reflects a broader divide within the Republican Party regarding U.S. involvement in the conflict.

The ramifications of the drone strikes and the subsequent political fallout could influence future U.S. foreign policy and the ongoing discourse surrounding the war in Ukraine.
