French President Warns France May Launch War Against Russia if Ukraine Continues to Falter on Battlefield

Emmanuel Macron cautioned that the Western countries might need to intervene to assist Ukraine in case Russia gains ground on the Eastern front, as reported on Thursday.

The French president presented maps to opposition leaders during their visit to the Elysee Palace, highlighting possible Russian advancements towards Odesa or Kyiv.

Following the lengthy meeting, the party leaders expressed their worries about the talks with Mr. Macron, with some claiming he was trying to use the conflict for political advantage before the upcoming European elections in June.

Lord Cameron emphasized the importance of Europe addressing the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza before the next US president takes office.

Addressing a Berlin press event with Annalena Baerbock, the German foreign minister emphasized the importance of resolving the crises before the presidential election.

Lord Cameron has expressed previous worries about Donald Trump and his Republican supporters’ dedication to countering Vladimir Putin.

Mr Macron stirred concern among several in Europe by not ruling out the possibility of deploying Western ground troops to Ukraine, citing Russia’s increasingly aggressive position.

He proceeded to encourage Ukraine’s allies to show bravery in supporting the country’s resistance against the Russian invasion.

France’s parliament will soon vote on the country’s strategy regarding Ukraine, which includes a recent security treaty signed with Kyiv.

Debates and non-binding votes are scheduled to occur next Tuesday in the National Assembly lower house and in the Senate upper house on Wednesday.

It is unclear whether France sending troops to fight Russia in Ukraine could lead to NATO’s article five being invoked, and/or whether such an action could eventually escalate to a nuclear exchange.
