Egg prices have reportedly dramatically decreased following the implementation of a five-point plan by President Donald Trump’s administration.

Since taking office in January 2025, prices have dropped by an astonishing 63%, with the average wholesale price for a dozen large eggs now around $3, down from $8.15 on February 21, according to an Axios report.

The decline has been attributed to the administration’s efforts to tackle the avian flu crisis and improve the chicken supply chain.

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins discussed the five-point plan on Fox News, highlighting its key components aimed at stabilizing egg prices.

She noted that under the Biden administration, egg prices surged by 237%, yet this issue received little attention from mainstream media.

Rollins explained that Trump directed her to develop a strategy to lower egg prices soon after her appointment.

The plan includes: deregulating the chicken farming sector to reduce costs, increasing the repopulation of chicken flocks affected by avian flu, implementing biosecurity measures, temporarily importing eggs from other countries to alleviate supply issues, and undertaking long-term research into therapeutics, vaccines, and culling methods.

The swift market response to these initiatives is seen as a positive outcome of bold governmental action. Rollins emphasized that significant plans designed with courage can lead to effective solutions for pressing issues.

As egg prices continue to decline, the administration remains focused on ensuring food security and stabilizing agricultural markets.

The initiatives outlined in the five-point plan reflect a commitment to enhance the production and availability of eggs while addressing the challenges posed by the previous administration’s policies.

This proactive approach aims to support both consumers and producers in the egg market.
