On Monday evening, an IDF spokesman reported that the armed forces executed targeted, precise attacks against Hamas strongholds in Eastern Rafah.
Earlier on Monday night, the Prime Minister’s Office announced that the War Cabinet had reached a consensus to proceed with the Israeli military operation targeted at Rafah.
Concurrently and notwithstanding the fact that “the proposal falls far short of Israel’s essential requirements, Israel will dispatch a delegation of mediators to explore the possibility of reaching an agreement under conditions acceptable to Israel,” the PMO added.
This occurs notwithstanding Hamas’s prior concurrence with the ceasefire proposal put forth by Qatar and Egypt.
