According to The Wall Street Journal, Elon Musk and former President Trump have initiated several monthly phone conversations, which include discussions regarding Musk’s prospective advisory role in a second Trump administration.
Why it matters: Musk has emerged as one of President Biden’s most prominent online critics, employing his massive X platform to disparage Democrats and advance Trump’s messaging on the most significant issues of the 2024 election.
The billionaire X entrepreneur has not officially endorsed Trump; however, the two engaged in a private meeting in March as the former president endeavored to increase his fundraising in anticipation of the general election.
The Journal reports that Trump and Musk have since cultivated a more intimate relationship and have exchanged perspectives on the U.S. Space Force, electric vehicles, immigration, and Musk’s portfolio of companies.
Musk, who declared that he would vote Republican for the first time in 2022, has developed into a fervent opponent of the Biden administration’s policies regarding the southern border and DEI.
