Notoriously liberal CNN host Don Lemon tried to bait a British commentator by making the obnoxious suggestion that the Royal family somehow owes reparations due to slavery but, in the end, he got much more than he bargained for.

Lemon talked with global business strategist Hilary Fordwich about how Queen Elizabeth II’s death occured at a time when “England is confronting growing living costs, a living crisis, austerity budget cuts, and so on.” “And then there are people who are calling for reparations for colonialism, and they’re wondering, you know, $100 billion, $24 billion here and there, $500 million there,” Lemon added. “Some individuals want to be paid back, and members of the public are thinking, ‘Why are we suffering when you have all of this tremendous wealth?'” Those are reasonable worries.”

While Lemon is likely used to having on only pliable and cooperative guests on his famously biased program, he or his staff seemed to have possibly made a mistake by inviting Fordwich on as she was having none of Lemon’s ridiculous and obscene suggestions.

She shot back: “Where was the beginning of the supply chain? That was in Africa, and when it crossed the entire world, when slavery was taking place, which was the first nation in the world that abolished slavery? The first nation world to abolish it, it was started by William Wilberforce, was the British. In Great Britain, they abolished slavery.” “Two thousand naval men died on the high seas trying to stop slavery. Why? Because the African kings were rounding up their own people, they had them on cages waiting in the beaches. No one was running into Africa to get them,” She went on “And I think you’re totally right. If reparations needs to be paid, we need to go right back to the beginning of that supply chain and say, ‘Who was rounding up their own people and having them handcuffed in cages?’ Absolutely. That’s where they should start. And maybe, I don’t know, the descendants of those families where they died at the, in the high seas trying to stop the slavery, that those families should receive something too, I think, at the same time.”

CNN recently announced that it would be stripping Lemon of his coveted primetime show and that he would instead be reassigned to head up a new morning program on the network, in a move that many observers interpreted as a major demotion.
