The Israeli military discovered the lifeless body of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, a 23-year-old American-Israeli who was abducted by Hamas from The Nova Music Festival in October, along with the remains of five other hostages in Gaza on Sunday.

The bodies of the six hostages were discovered by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) troops in a tunnel beneath Rafah, a city in southern Gaza.

It is worth noting that the Biden administration had previously urged Israel to avoid invading this particular area. The Israeli military spokesperson stated that the hostages were tragically killed shortly before their bodies were discovered.

Israeli forces successfully rescued Qaid Farhan Al-Qadi from a tunnel underneath Rafah on Tuesday.

In addition to Goldberg-Polin, the IDF forces discovered the remains of Master Sgt. Ori Danino, 25, Carmel Gat, 40, Alexander Lobanov, 32, Almog Sarusi, 27, and Eden Yerushalmi, 24.

All six individuals were taken hostage by Hamas on October 7 and it had previously been believed that they were all still alive.
