Protesters yelled out Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at her town hall on Wednesday night.
Ocasio-Cortez was holding a Listening Forum Event in Astoria, Queens, when a big crowd began yelling “AOC has got to go.” Several demonstrators held banners with a series of highly provocative conservative slogans on them.
“Ma’am, you are saying you ask us why, you’ve been talking for twenty minutes, we know why, we know why you’re mad, let’s talk about it.” Ocasio-Cortez remarked to a lady in the audience.
“I am not mad. There are only two f***ing genders,” the woman fired back.
This was not the first time demonstrators disrupted Ocasio-town Cortez’s hall.
Cortez had previously been shouted down by a group of protestors upset about the congresswoman’s continued support for the war in Ukraine, in particular, for continued U.S. arms transfers to the country.
A stance they compared unfavorably to that of former Democratic Representative Tulsi Gabbard, who has repeatedly criticized U.S. foreign interventions.
