President Donald Trump took aim at Fox News on Sunday, accusing the network of giving Democrats too much airtime in the run-up to the high-stakes midterm elections.

In a post on Truth Social, the president argued that the network was spending too much effort on Democratic candidates at the expense of Republicans.

“FoxNews is spending far too much time putting on the OPPONENTS of Republican Party Candidates, people that love our Country, and have Great Policies and Ideas,” Trump wrote. “These American Patriots are being absolutely ‘blurred out’ by the Media, and Fox is doing little to help. That’s the only reason this Race is close, if it is indeed close. President DONALD J. TRUMP”

The president’s criticism came just hours after he appeared in a phone-in interview with Fox News host Larry Kudlow, who served in Trump’s first administration. Kudlow heaped praise on the president during the conversation.

“I think you’re on a roll, OK?” Kudlow said. “You’ve been relentless! Your campaigning, it’s Herculean. You’re turning the tide. You’re getting voters out. You’re raising enthusiasm. The economy is booming. We’re the hottest in the world. Stocks are doing great. Drug prices are coming down. Oil is flowing through the Persian Gulf. I mean, I think in the last month you may have turned this whole thing around!”

Trump pointed to the grueling schedule he has kept on the campaign trail.

“I have worked very hard,” Trump said. “I’ve done 14 rallies in nine days and it’s a lot.”

The president’s complaint follows a string of recent Fox News appearances by Democrats competing in key races. In recent weeks, the network has interviewed Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed twice. Fox News also hosted Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Mich., who discussed El-Sayed.

Other Democrats featured on the network include Kentucky Senate candidate Charles Booker, who is running for the seat held by Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Rob Sand, the Democrat running in Iowa’s race for governor.

It is not the first time in recent days that Trump has gone after the network over its coverage. Last week, the president complained that Fox News was promoting Democrats in an effort to be “politically correct.”

The latest broadside comes as Trump has been crisscrossing the country to campaign for vulnerable Republicans, with control of both the House and Senate on the line. The president has rallied in six different states over the past week alone.

Trump was expected to return to Michigan on Sunday, where the Senate race has emerged as one of the most closely watched contests of the cycle. El-Sayed was narrowly leading Republican Mike Rogers in the race.

The president’s push in the Wolverine State comes as Republicans look to flip the seat and strengthen their hand in the Senate. Trump has made clear he believes his party’s candidates deserve more attention, and he is placing the blame for any tight races squarely on the media.

With Election Day approaching, the president shows no signs of slowing down his campaign schedule or his criticism of coverage he views as unfair to Republican candidates.
