After withdrawing from consideration for attorney general and stating that he will not return to Congress for the upcoming session, former Representative Matt Gaetz (R-Florida) has now reportedly joined the Cameo app just one day after having announced his decision to leave the race.

Cameo is an app which allows users to request unique video appearances from celebrities in exchange for cash.

The newly established Cameo account for Gaetz comes at a time when the former congressman has been making news recently as a result of an investigation being conducted by the House Ethics Committee in connection with allegations of sexual misbehavior and the use of illegal drugs, among other things.

Following Trump’s nomination of Gaetz to serve as attorney general, Gaetz resigned from his position in Congress, thereby putting an end to the investigation and removing him from the purview of the House Ethics Committee, which has been debating whether or not to make the findings public.

A vigorous denial of any misconduct has been made by Gaetz regarding the allegations.

Following the meeting that took place on Wednesday, the committee decided not to release the report since the Republicans on the panel voted against doing so.

However, they did leave open the possibility that the study may be released at a later time.

Previously, the Justice Department conducted an investigation against Gaetz as part of a larger investigation into sex trafficking.

The investigation included charges involving a woman who was under the age of 18. Gaetz has categorically denied any misconduct, and the agency eventually made the decision not to pursue any charges against him.

In the same way that former New York congressman George Santos (R-NY) joined the platform after being removed from the House of Representatives in the previous year due to the release of a damning report by the House Ethics Committee, which found that he allegedly “violated federal criminal laws” and used campaign funds for personal purposes, Gaetz’s cameo appearance appears to be a move that takes a page out of Santos’s book.

It is currently unclear what Gaetz’s next move is, with some speculating he could make a run for Florida governor in 2026 and/or pursue a media career.
