Following the launch of her father-in-re-election law’s 2024 presidential campaign, Fox News terminated its relationship with Lara Trump, the wife of former President Donald Trump’s son, Eric.

The network acknowledged Saturday that the former president’s daughter-in-law will no longer be a paid employee of the network, as originally reported by the Los Angeles Times.

Trump became a paid contributor to the network in March 2021, two months after her father-in-law departed the oval office.

Her resignation was reportedly in accordance with the network’s rule, which specifies that it cannot employ persons who are currently running for office or have strong ties to candidates that are.

Fox News executive chairman Rupert Murdoch has previously openly indicated his disapproval Trump’s decision to run again in 2024, and has implied that his network will not support the endeavor.

Lara hasn’t appeared on the network since her father-in-law declared his third presidential candidacy in a speech at his Mar-a-Lago estate on Nov. 15.

Previously she had often appeared on network programs to defend her father-in-law, particularly in the aftermath of the events of January 6th and the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago.

The network previously ended its relationship with former Trump administration press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders after she declared her gubernatorial candidacy in Arkansas, which she recently won.

  1. That’s ethically appropriate. If Trump loses, she can come back if they will have her and if he wins, she can come back in 4 years. No big deal. They didn’t say there was some brouhaha but it appears to me a matter of routine.
