REPORT: Texas Now Number One State in America for Population Growth

According to the data provided by the Census, Texas experienced the highest rate of population growth among all states between July 2023 and July 2024.

There was a 562,941 person increase in the population of Texas. With a total of 467,347 new residents, Florida experienced the second biggest numerical growth, while California came in third with 232,570 new residents.

Texas was surpassed in terms of percentage growth by both Washington, District of Columbia and Florida.

The population of D.C. increased by 2.2%, while the population of Florida increased by 2%. The population of Texas increased by 1.8% over the past year.

The United States Census Bureau has provided the most recent figures, which indicate that the population of the nation has surpassed 340 million people and is expanding at the quickest rate it has since the year 2001.

The majority of the expansion can be attributed to net international migration, which the Bureau of Labor Statistics defines as “any change of residence across U.S. borders.”

An rise in international migration was observed in each and every state. Through the addition of 319,569 individuals, Texas became the third most populous state after Florida and California.

The highest difference between the number of births and deaths occurred in the state of Texas, which had a total of 158,753 additional residents.

A total of 85,267 people moved into Texas, making it the state with the highest increase in domestic migration.

According to data provided by the Census Bureau, the South was the region that experienced the most rapid population growth overall, acquiring more people than all of the other regions combined.

The population of every state increased between the years 2023 and 2024, with the exception of three states: West Virginia, Vermont, and Mississippi.

Texas continues to be the state with the second highest population, behind only California.
