On Tuesday, Rudy Giuliani entered a plea of not guilty to nine charges in Arizona that pertain to an investigation that aims to invalidate the 2020 presidential election results in the state.
At an arraignment that took place in a Phoenix courtroom, Giuliani entered a not guilty plea remotely.
Kelly Ward, the former Arizona GOP Chair, and numerous other individuals charged in the case entered not guilty pleas during their arraignments on Tuesday.
The trial of Giuliani is scheduled to commence in October.
After being charged in the autumn in Georgia in Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’s probe into efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election in that state, this is the second criminal indictment he is facing.
He has also entered a plea of not guilty to all of those charges.
Last month, Giuliani was charged with nine felony counts in Arizona, including conspiracy, fraud, and forgery, along with other close Trump allies.
Allegedly, all 18 defendants in the case are accused of circulating fraudulent allegations of voter fraud in order to persuade state officials to reject President Biden’s Arizona victory.
The 11 individuals who signed documents claiming that they were the legitimate electors in the state and that Trump had won, former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Trump adviser Boris Epshteyn, and attorneys Jenna Ellis, John Eastman, and Christina Bobb are the other defendants in the case.
Mike Roman, the director of Election Day operations for Trump’s 2020 campaign, was also charged.
