In a defiant interview, President Biden called into “Morning Joe” on Monday and disregarded the calls of “big names” and “elites” in the Democratic Party who have asked him to withdraw as the nominee.

Regardless matter what experts and editorial boards said, Biden told co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski that he was running because he cared about everyday folks.

“I’m getting frustrated by the elites in the party, ‘Oh, they know so much more.’ Any of these guys that don’t think I should run, run against me. Announce for president, challenge me at the convention.” Biden said during the interview.

“I’m not going to care what those big names think. … Come out with me and watch people react. You make a judgment,” he continued.

When asked if he had been examined for age-related ailments, Biden brushed it off and chastised former President Trump for avoiding the spotlight the previous week.

In order to support his claim that Americans want him to continue in the race, the president also mentioned the boisterous audiences he has witnessed at rallies since the debate, notably in North Carolina and Wisconsin.

“I wanted to make sure I was right. That the average voter out there still wanted Joe Biden. And I’m confident they do,” he concluded.
