According to a shocking new report provided by a whistleblower the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has now closed or downgraded a number of crucial investigations into child sexual exploitation in order to reassign agents and resources on to highly questionable investigations into alleged ‘domestic terrorism’ by Trump supporters and other conservatives.
The whistleblower went on to claim that the Bureau is actively and knowingly overstating and distorting the threat posed by ‘domestic extremism’ for what appears to be purely political purposes.
GOP Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) revealed in a letter addressed to FBI Director Christopher Wray on Monday that the whistleblower claimed the FBI office did not follow standard investigative practices for the January 6th cases when it moved the cases to various local field offices across the country based on where the case subjects were from.
According to the letter, the whistleblower also claimed that January 6th cases were being given inappropriate priority over other cases, citing an instance of being “told that child sexual abuse material investigations were no longer an FBI priority and should be referred to local law enforcement agencies.”
The latest whistleblower claim comes in the wake of at least two other whistleblowers telling Jordan in July that FBI officials were encouraging agents to label cases as domestic violent extremism despite the lack of required proof.
The FBI has been at the target of numerous allegations accusing it of politically motivated investigations for years, but the suspicions have gone since the election of former President Trump in 2016 and the ensuing Russiagate fiasco.
Jordan, who is slated to lead the Judiciary Committee if Republicans managed to regain control of the House next year, has pledged to examine in detail what he calls the politicization of the FBI, citing the more than a dozen whistleblower complaints he has received about the agency.
