According to a stunning new Insider article, Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal, venture capitalist, Republican megadonor, and disputed vampire, may have also worked as an FBI informant.

Multiple sources Thiel was a “confidential human source” for a Los Angeles-based agent called Jonathan Buma, according to Insider’s interviews with them.

This word denotes a long-standing contact with the FBI, supposedly starting in 2021.

Although Thiel was formerly a prominent admirer of the late president Donald Trump and the focus of numerous FBI inquiries, the purchase is claimed to have concealed any details regarding Thiel’s domestic political connections.

According to Insider, the attention was instead directed toward “foreign contacts and Silicon Valley intrigue,” which may have included foreign influence efforts in the IT sector.

He was allegedly outed as payback for passing on a right-wing blogger’s startup opportunities.

Regarding the report, neither Thiel nor the FBI responded to Insider. Charles Johnson, a far-right political figure and blogger, is also one of Insider’s informants.

Johnson told Insider that after introducing Thiel to Buma, he went public with his relationship with Thiel because he “felt betrayed that Thiel did not invest in Johnson’s own startups, which he had expected Thiel to do in exchange.”

Thiel’s reputation as a long-time informant would put him at odds with certain Republican Party members who have grown antagonistic to the FBI as a result of its investigations into Trump.
