The demise of Alexei Navalny in a jail colony located in the Arctic region in February triggered a fresh round of sanctions aimed at Russia’s economy, however it turns out it may not have happened like many in the West have been led to believe by the liberal press.

This event also disrupted the delicate negotiations for the exchange of prisoners between Russia and Western countries, and caused disorder within Russia’s already restricted opposition.

However, according to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, Russian President Vladimir Putin may not have anticipated the timing of the event.

According to individuals with knowledge of the situation, U.S. intelligence agencies have concluded that it is unlikely that Putin gave the order for Navalny to be killed at the infamously harsh prison camp in February.

This finding further intensifies the enigma surrounding the circumstances of his death.

The conclusion is widely acknowledged throughout the intelligence community and endorsed by many agencies, including the Central Intelligence Agency, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the State Department’s intelligence branch, according to the sources.

President Biden and other international leaders have attributed ultimate responsibility to Putin, citing the Kremlin’s persistent targeting of Navalny over the course of several years.

However, the United States currently believes that Putin did not intend for his demise to occur at that specific time.

The U.S. assessment is derived from a variety of sources, including classified intelligence, and an examination of publicly available evidence.

This includes the timing of his death and its impact on Putin’s re-election, as reported by certain individuals.
