A few irate constituents reportedly confronted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) during a town hall on Friday night in Queens.
Attendees from New York objected to the congresswoman’s dovish attitude on extending the debt ceiling, supporting apparently infinite U.S. financing for Ukraine, and other issues.
“American citizens before migrants!” he said as he stood up and proceeded toward the platform while holding an American flag in his hand and wearing a shirt with the Cuban flag on it.
The socialist Democrat in her second term shrugged it off, but as the evening wore on, she faced increasing resistance.
One audience member criticized the congresswoman’s remark by pointing out that she supports the U.S. sending billions of dollars to Ukraine in order to convey his anger.
“$100 billion for Ukraine that you voted for!” the man shouted.
In the past, Ocasio-Cortez has encountered irate people who have questioned her support for aiding Ukraine. Two attendees at her town hall in October accosted her and said she was in favor of nuclear war.
