A Democrat in Virginia is now claiming that she will draft legislation that would criminally penalize parents who do not “affirm” their children if they identify as transgender.
Under the plan proposed by state Delegate Elizabeth Guzman, teachers and social workers would report parents to Child Protective Services (D-Fauquier) in cases were affirmation for their child’s transgenderism was not provided.
“It could be a felony, it could be a misdemeanor, but we know that CPS charge could harm your employment, could harm their education, because nowadays many people do a CPS database search before offering employment.” Guzman said in a statement to WJLA.
Guzman, a social worker, made her intentions to introduce the bill public a week after a report that a National Association Of School Psychologists official named Amy Cannava boasted that she was working with an unnamed state delegate who matched Guzman’s description to draft such legislation.
Cannava is also associated with the Pride Liberation Project, a group which stated that it would pick up trans and LGBT kids who did not like their parents and “work with other supportive adult organizations in the region to find you someone who can provide you a kind and affirming home.”
A truly radical and potentially illegal initiative. One which it appears Guzman is attempting to imitate, only this time using the state to force parents to comply with radical transgender ideology.
“This is the state being the abductor of children on behalf of the transgender cult.” said David Gordon, a conservative activist said in a statement to The Daily Wire.
Guzman and four other Democrats stealthily proposed a similar bill in 2020, shortly after taking control of the assembly in the 2019 elections.
Joe Morrissey, the lone Senate proponent of the 2020 measure, served time in jail for contributing to the delinquency of a child after sleeping with his teenage secretary.
He took a plea agreement after being charged with possessing child pornography and other offenses.
Because Republicans control the House of Delegates, the 2020 measure failed in committee. And it now appears this new one has little chance of passing a state House vote as is.
However, the radical proposed bill could be a sign of things to come if Democrats ever win back control of the Virginia statehouse. A potential outcome that could have terrifying outcomes for parents and their children in years to come.
