The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is now reportedly planning to publish hundreds of emails that mention Hunter Biden and his international business dealings, unless the Biden administration takes drastic action.
Susan Donius, a NARA official, warned the White House in a letter late last month that the agency is getting ready to divulge emails in response to an open records request unless the White House steps in.
The emails reportedly date back to 2014, when then Vice President Joe Biden supported former President Barack Obama in office.
Both men’s individual legal teams reportedly have been informed and given 60 days to claim privilege over any information planned for publication in compliance with the Presidential Records Act.
A number of Freedom of Information Act requests are also mentioned in the letter.
One of those queries centered on information about the president’s brother James and son Hunter’s international business dealings.
In response to the request, NARA is now getting ready to publish 185 emails in their entirety and another 75 with redactions.
Hunter Biden joined the Burisma board in 2014 despite having no prior energy industry expertise or experience.
He received a monthly salary of up to $83,333 for the job.
His position at the business sparked rumors that Burisma hired the Biden scion in an effort to influence the Obama administration.
Vice President Biden at the time was in charge of the Obama administration’s Ukraine strategy.
President Biden has asserted time and time again that he never discussed his son Hunter’s international business affairs with him.
This assertion appeared to be refuted in June when a voicemail from 2018 that was discovered on Hunter’s abandoned laptop was made public.
