Diamond of the pro-Trump performers Diamond and Silk reportedly died Monday night, the former president and the duo’s verified Twitter account reported. She was 51 years old.
According to their 2020 book, “Uprising,” both ladies, sisters Lynette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson, were born in 1971.
Trump mourned Diamond’s death on his Truth Social platform.
“Really bad news for Republicans and frankly, ALL Americans. Our beautiful Diamond, of Diamond and Silk, has just passed away at her home in the State she loved so much, North Carolina. Silk was with her all the way, and at her passing. There was no better TEAM anywhere, or at any time! Diamond’s death was totally unexpected, probably her big and precious HEART just plain gave out. Rest In Peace our Magnificent Diamond, you will be greatly missed!” Trump wrote.
Diamond and Silk’s Twitter account requested prayers for Diamond in late November. It wasn’t really apparent why.
During Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016, the two women earned a name for themselves by providing comments on their YouTube channel in support of Trump.
The pair have stated that they switched parties despite being lifetime Democrats in order to support Trump after his presidential campaign declaration in 2015.
No official cause of death for Diamond has yet been announced.
