The departure of Tucker Carlson, according to former Fox News personality Glenn Beck, will reportedly “kill” the 24-hour news network, he said on Monday.
On Monday, Fox abruptly announced that it was cutting ties with Carlson.
Beyond praising the host for his efforts to the network and stating that his final program aired last Friday, the network made no additional comments regarding the presenter’s departure.
2011 saw Beck, a longstanding conservative pundit, leave his position as anchor of a popular Fox program.
He recently made an appearance on Carlson’s show to talk about former president Trump turning himself in to police in New York following an arrest by a grand jury.
Beck is one of several prominent right-wing personalities who have criticized Fox for firing Carlson since the news was announced.
Carlson left less than a week after Fox News and Dominion Voting Systems reached a $787.5 million settlement in their legal dispute, avoiding a trial where Carlson and other network stars may have been compelled to testify.
Beck announced his hope that Carlson may choose to join him at his network, TheBlaze, which he launched after leaving Fox News in June 2011.
Carlson has not yet made any official public statements regarding his future in media since the news broke that he was leaving Fox.
