Over the weekend, NASCAR reportedly received criticism online after suspending a driver for “his actions on social media.”

Because Noah Gragson allegedly liked an Instagram post making fun of George Floyd’s passing, NASCAR and Legacy Motor Club have suspended him.

Legacy Motor Club and NASCAR both issued comments reiterating the choice.

“NASCAR fully supports Legacy Motor Club’s decision to suspend Noah Gragson. Following his actions on social media, NASCAR has determined that Gragson has violated the Member Conduct section of the 2023 NASCAR Rule Book and has placed him under indefinite suspension.” NASCAR announced in a statement.

“I am disappointed in myself for my lack of attention and actions on social media.” Gragson wrote.

“I understand the severity of this situation,” he continued. “I love and appreciate everyone. I try to treat everyone equally no matter who they are. I messed up plain and simple.” he continued.

Despite the majority of its following being conservative, NASCAR has recently come under fire for being too politically correct.

Many conservatives on social media expressed disgust with NASCAR’s decision to discipline Gragson:

Last year, during Pride Month, NASCAR came under fire as it seemed to apologise for allowing Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott to raise the green flag before the All-Star Race at Texas Motor Speedway on May 22, 2022.
