Fox News host Laura Ingraham warned Republicans Tuesday that they need to “get their act together” ahead of the midterm elections, singling out Iowa as a potential concern.
Ingraham delivered the warning during a discussion with former Jill Biden press secretary Michael LaRosa and American Majority CEO Ned Ryun on “The Ingraham Angle.”
The segment focused on South Carolina’s Republican Senate primary runoff between Sen. Darline Graham and Rep. Ralph Norman. With approximately 8% of the vote counted, Ingraham noted Graham held a sizable lead but said the race remained too early to call.
Ryun predicted the contest would be close and warned that Democratic Senate nominee Dr. Annie Andrews would pose a difficult challenge in the general election.
“I think Republicans are kind of whistling past the graveyard on some of these Senate seats that they thought were safe,” Ryun said.
He pointed to South Carolina, Alaska, Iowa, Nebraska and Ohio as states Republicans should closely monitor. Ingraham agreed and questioned whether Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican Senate candidate, was actively campaigning.
Ryun argued Republicans had failed to deliver on several promises, citing the Senate’s handling of the SAVE America Act, gasoline prices reaching $4.10 per gallon and the war with Iran.
“They’re not seeing a lot of the things they voted for,” Ryun said.
LaRosa acknowledged that South Carolina has resisted previous Democratic waves but agreed that some unexpected states could become competitive, identifying Kansas and Mississippi.
“Iowa,” Ingraham responded. “I think there are a number of states that Republicans better get their act together. Iowa is one of them.”
