Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow and outspoken Trump ally, is apparently intending to run for the Republican National Committee chair against current chairman Ronna McDaniel.
Lindell mentioned the topic on his livestream this week, asking followers whether or not they would back him in a run against the chairperson in the aftermath of Republicans’ highly disappointing showing in the midterm elections.
Lindell’s phone was seized by the FBI in September, likely in connection with his previous allegations conspiracy about unauthorized persons allegedly given access to polling machines.
Dominion Voting Systems has also launched a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit against Lindell for his so-far unsupported assertions that their voting devices were actively used to manipulate the 2020 election.
Lindell’s Twitter account has also been suspended owing to breaches of the platform’s Civic Integrity Policy.
McDaniel, who has been in the job since 2017, indicated earlier this month that she intends to run for re-election.
Last Thursday, she earned the support of the vast majority of RNC voting members.
Lindell previously stated he was unhappy with McDaniel because she had not addressed “election integrity,” and he is also disappointed by her recognition of President Biden’s 2020 victory.
