According to a spokesperson for the talent agency UTA, Susan Sarandon has now been dismissed for comments she made at a pro-Palestinian rally in Union Square, New York.

Featuring an estimated 300 agents who advocate for actors, directors, producers, musicians, and writers, UTA is among the most sizable talent agencies globally.

Pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli demonstrations have taken place across the United States, including on college campuses, since October 7, when Hamas murdered 1,200 Israeli civilians.

Sarandon reposted a Palestine Online tweet on Monday that criticized Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters, who has been charged with harboring anti-Semitic views.

The Academy Award-winning director of the 1996 film Dead Man Walking is a vocal opponent of human rights violations and women’s issues.

She severed ties with the Democratic Party in 2016 by supporting Green Party candidate Jill Stein rather than Hillary Clinton, the former senator from New York having supported the Iraq War.
